Southern Oaks Grove Neighborhood Watch

Several homeowners have asked what we, as an HOA, can do to make our neighborhood safer. A few of the concerns include:
  • Auto Crime
  • Gang Crimes
  • Home Security
  • Cyber Security

What Does the County Neighborhood Watch Program do?
  • Promote citizen awareness of the need for crime prevention
  • Establish a coordinating council of all Neighborhood Watch programs in Hillsborough County
  • Foster effective communication and understanding between the residents of Hillsborough County and their law enforcement officials
  • Make all neighborhoods safer places to live

How Does Neighborhood Watch Work?
Neighborhood Watch works through neighbors watching out for neighbors and their homes. It helps neighbors get to know who you are and what type of vehicle(s) you drive, so they notice a potential burglar at your window or door, or a strange car in your driveway.

Join Our Neighborhood Watch Committee
For those who have requested a Neighborhood Watch program - we need your support.

The Neighborhood Watch Committee is a team of trained volunteers who are your neighbors. They are trained in crime prevention services and community awareness through proactive law enforcement principles, serving as additional eyes and ears for law enforcement.

Neighborhood Watch Committee members do not take enforcement action, carry weapons, or make arrests. If they notice suspicious activity, it is reported to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office (HCSO).

This program is designed for volunteers who have an interest in helping law enforcement keep the community safe from crime and vandalism.
